Econsult was hired by the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds (NASVF) to provide an economic impact analysis of a commercial product resulting from a technology transfer partnership between the US Department of Agriculture’s Agriculture Research Service (ARS) and CrispTek, LLC. In April 2008, CrispTek licensed the patent from ARS for a product named ChoiceBatter and was able to commercially develop and begin selling ChoiceBatter. The sale and manufacture of ChoiceBatter will generate about $8 million in local economic impact and create 100 jobs in five communities in five states: Maryland, Illinois, Iowa, Texas and Louisiana. Econsult presented the findings of this report at the National Association of Seed and Venture Fund's annual conference in Baltimore in October 2010, in a session entitled "Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Success Story." Several documents are available for viewing and download including the Press Release from ARS and NASVF.
