An Analysis of the Feasibility of Expanding Public Transit Services in Northwest Montgomery County

Working on a team led by Michael Baker Inc., Econsult Corporation was retained by the Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC) and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) to conduct a feasibility analysis of expanding public transit services in Northwest Montgomery County.  The region of concern is mostly rural with low population density and almost no public transportation service.  In light of recent increases and volatility in gas prices, there has been a heightened interest in evaluating public transit options.  This study addressed the question of whether it is economically wise and feasible to increase public routes in this area.
