2022

This year Econsult will mark its 43rd year providing law firms in Philadelphia and the surrounding regions, as well as clients in Minneapolis, Chicago, California and New York with its expertise in wage and hour analyses, evaluating damages in lost earnings, and determining bias in hiring and promotion.  Dr. Janice Madden and Tabatha Lupinetti continue to have success in the practice.

2019
Econsult continues its work with the Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in actions involving recruiting deficiencies, discriminatory testing, and age bias in hiring.  In addition, Econsult continues its multi-action, multi-year contracts with the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).

David Crawford and Janice Madden have recently been retained for a multi-year contract to analyze RIF plans.

2015

In September 2015, we were awarded multi-year contracts with the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) for 7 unique actions involving discrimination on the basis of gender, race and ethnicity.   Our work involves compiling datasets, in-depth statistical analysis and writing reports of our results, and analyzing defense rebuttal reports.

2014

DECEMBER 2014

Econsult President, David Crawford, was a member of the Faculty of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s program entitled “Representing the Undocumented Worker in an Injury Case” on Friday, December 16, 2014 in Philadelphia.  His presentation focused on economic loss issues.  Dr. Crawford’s presentation was part of a full day program.  To read more about Econsult’s work in the area of economic analysis in personal injury matters see Damages in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Actions in the Expertise section.

SEPTEMBER 2014

Professor Janice Madden testified on September 18 before the Labor and Industry Committee Public Hearing for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on HB2 1890, legislation that would clarify standards for gender pay equity.

APRIL 2014

In the matter of George McReynolds v. Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc., U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division Case No. 05-C-6583, Econsult is providing the settlement distribution analysis as part of its engagement with Stowell and Friedman in this matter.  Econsult provided the economic expert analysis of Dr. Janice Madden.   A $160 million settlement was reached in late 2013.

Econsult Corporation reorganized by transferring the Real Estate, Transportation, Economic Development, and Public Policy and Finance consulting practice it developed for Stephen Mullin and Dick Voith to Econsult Solutions, Inc.   Econsult Corporation, returned to its original focus on expert testimony and litigation support in the areas of employment; damage analysis for both individual and class claims and personal injury and wrongful death actions; antitrust, and intellectual property. It will continue to be led by President David Crawford, and Academic Affiliate and Founding Principal Janice Madden.  Econsult will continue its human resource management consulting practice as well.

OCTOBER 2012

Econsult Senior Advisor Dr. Joseph P. Fuhr published the first of three micro studies on government-owned networks for the Coalition for the New Economy. The first study examines MI Connection, a failing government-owned network in North Carolina. Fuhr also recently published the study “The Monopolization of Forest Certification: Do Disparate Standards Increase Consumer Costs and Undermine Sustainability?” for the American Consumer Institute. He co-authored the study with Steve Pociask, president of the American Consumer Center for Citizen Research. In addition, Fuhr recently published the article “Will Comparative Effectiveness Research Finally Succeed?” in the Fall 2012 edition of Biotechnology Healthcare. He co-authored this article with Dr. Erwin A. Blackstone, professor of economics at Temple University, and Dr. Danielle Ziernicki, director of global regulatory policy and intelligence for Janssen Research and Development.

In a news release on PRNewsWire in the matter of da Silva Moore, et al. v. Publicis Groupe, et al.,  Dr. Janice Madden’s economic expert report was cited by the judge in awarding women class certification.  Econsult and Janice Madden are retained on behalf of the plaintiff class by Sanford Wittels & Heisler LLP.
