Econsult Senior Advisor Dr. Joseph P. Fuhr recently published the first of three micro studies on government-owned networks for the Coalition for the New Economy. The first study examines MI Connection, a failing government-owned network in North Carolina (http://www.coalitionfortheneweconomy.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/10.31.12-GON-MI-Connection-Final.pdf). Fuhr also recently published the study “The Monopolization of Forest Certification: Do Disparate Standards Increase Consumer Costs and Undermine Sustainability?” for the American Consumer Institute. He co-authored the study with Steve Pociask, president of the American Consumer Center for Citizen Research. In addition, Fuhr recently published the article “Will Comparative Effectiveness Research Finally Succeed?” in the Fall 2012 edition of Biotechnology Healthcare. He co-authored this article with Dr. Erwin A. Blackstone, professor of economics at Temple University, and Dr. Danielle Ziernicki, director of global regulatory policy and intelligence for Janssen Research and Development.

Stephen P. Mullin, Econsult Senior Vice President and Principal, presented findings of his report on the economic impacts of FAA budget sequestration on the U.S. economy in D.C. on Monday August 13. The study was conducted for the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and is part of an overall budget sequestration education campaign, Second to None, addressing the impacts of sequestration on civil aviation and the U.S. economy. The report suggests that by cutting the budget by approximately $1 billion the U.S. could loose up to 132,000 jobs. (August 14, 2012)

Econsult Corporation and Camiros, an urban planning and design firm of Chicago, have been approved by the Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors to conduct and 18-month, $100,000 analysis of the townships zoning ordinances. This study will concentrate on the township's commercial corridors, particularly along the heavily travelled Route 202, which encompasses the Gateway, Valley Fair, and Chesterbrook shopping centers, and equally hectic Route 30 in downtown Paoli as well as in Devon and Stratford.)
