Each quarter, Econsult Vice President Kevin Gillen produces four comprehensive indices of house prices in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Region, the Jersey Shore, and the Lehigh Valley. The indices are released every quarter about one month apart. The indices reflect three distinct sets of home sales data. The first indices are home sales in the city of Philadelphia only— the Philadelphia House Price Indices. The second indices are home sales in the entire Philadelphia Region, including the City—the Philadelphia Regional House Price Indices. The third indices are homes sales in the south Jersey Shore—the Jersey Shore House Price Indices. The fourth indices are homes sales in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania—the Lehigh Valley House Price Indices. These quarterly indices measure the percent increase or decrease in local house prices and sales, on a quality-adjusted and seasonally-adjusted basis.
